Fighting Hunger in Los Angeles

Older adult hunger exists in every community, across our nation. Everyday more than 9 million people over 50 struggle with food insecurity. Too often they are forced to choose between paying for basic essentials like utilities or medicine or even skipping meals or choosing cheaper less nutritious food.  It shouldn’t be that way.  That is why our Drive to End Hunger program is focused on pairing real needs with both short- and long-term, sustainable solutions in communities across the nation and right here in Los Angeles.
Join us in leaving older adult hunger in the dust.  We need your help to make a difference to an older adult and their families in Los Angeles.
Bring a non-perishable food item to the event.
The food we collect will help the Food Bank supply food to more than 670 charitable agencies, with more than 1,000 sites that provide food for low-income children, families, senior citizens and individuals in need throughout Los Angeles County. The Food Bank currently provides the equivalent of 830,000 meals every week.
Much needed food items include:
● canned protein such as tuna, sardines, stews, and soups
● peanut butter & jelly
● canned fruits & vegetables
● fruit juices
● staples such as beans, rice, pasta
